The dlPFC, or dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, is a region of the brain’s frontal lobe that is thought to be responsible for high-level, top-down executive processing. It projects throughout the brain to exert control on automatic processes that generate perceptions and actions. Because of this connectivity and function, it is thought to be involved in most of the behaviors we consider uniquely human.
This blog will likewise take a broad, top-down approach to cognitive neuroscience, psychology, and biology through the lens of politics, pop culture, and philosophy.
